The threat of nuclear terrorism is real and growing. In recent years, there have been several high-profile cases of terrorists attempting to acquire nuclear materials. In 2010, for example, a group of terrorists in Pakistan was arrested for attempting to purchase uranium. In 2012, a terrorist group in Syria was found to be in possession of radioactive material. And in 2015, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing in Paris that killed 130 people. The fear is that ISIS or another terrorist group could soon acquire nuclear weapons or materials and use them to carry out an attack.

The Threat of Climate Change

Climate change is the long-term alteration of temperature and typical weather patterns in a place. Climate change is caused by the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, which trap heat and cause the planet to warm. The effects of climate change are already being felt around the world, in the form of rising sea levels, more extreme weather events, and changes in plant and animal life.

Climate change is a serious threat to global security. It can lead to conflict and instability, as people are forced to compete for scarce resources. It can also contribute to the spread of disease and the displacement of populations. The economic costs of climate change are also significant, as it can damage infrastructure and disrupt supply chains.

Combating Nuclear Terror and Climate Change
